This is great opportunity to join our dynamic team and make a real difference to our environment.

Are you a great communicator, well-organised, passionate about working with communities to improve the environment and deliver simple campaign messages? We are looking for an energetic, community focussed officer, to work on the LovemyBeach programme.

Could you run a campaign to improve bathing water quality? Strong influencing & communication skills? This key role will require tenacity and tact; brilliant marketing skills and a great understanding of behavior change and campaigning.  Part-time, initially short-term, Kendal-based at The Factory with the award-winning Morecambe Bay Partnership team.

Learn more about the Love my Beach Programme from this short film and the LmB facebook page.

The Love my Beach officer's role is to work with
(i) communities, raising awareness of simple actions to safeguard bathing water: think before your flush, what not to pour, clean up after your dog, and
(ii) decision-makers and support local authorities with beach management plans.

This post covers communities in north Lancashire, south, and west Cumbria.  The key bathing water sites are in Morecambe, Walney (Barrow), Allonby and Silloth.  Cumbria is a large county and the journey from Kendal to Silloth is 1.5 to 2 hrs one way - so there will be some long journeys to the north of Cumbria.  Travel will be reimbursed at standard mileage rates.
